Is a used Canon EOS R5 worth buying in 2026?

For stills photographers, emphatically — reviewers rank it among the best value buys in mirrorless right now: 45MP, superb autofocus and IBIS at under-$2,000 used pricing. Heavy video shooters are the exception, as long-term users report hitting its video limits, where the Mark II justifies its premium. Compare used R5 condition disclosures on Shopfox.

Did the Canon R5 Mark II make the original R5 cheaper?

Yes, meaningfully. The Mark II's launch pushed original R5 used prices down roughly 15%, and as the R5 II itself receives discounts the original keeps sliding. Reviewers conclude the R5 delivers about 95% of the Mark II's stills performance at roughly half the cost — the value argument. Track R5 pricing on Shopfox with price history.

How much does the Canon EOS R5 cost in 2026?

The original EOS R5 now sells new around $2,999 after rebates, while clean used bodies trade $1,800-$2,300 — with excellent copies regularly at or under $2,000 on the secondhand market. That is a steep fall from its $3,899 launch. Compare R5 body-versus-kit listings and price history on Shopfox before buying.

Canon R5 bundle

Absolutely blown away by this Canon R5 bundle! The image quality is stunning and the price point is unbeatable compared to other retailers. I was hesitant at first due to some mixed reviews, but everything arrived brand new and well-packaged. The mount adapter works like a charm. I'm genuinely thrilled with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a solid deal.
