Corsair K70 CORE or K70 MAX — which should I buy?

The K70 MAX adds magnetic Hall-effect switches with adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger for competitive play, at a much higher price. The K70 CORE is the value pick for normal gaming and typing. If you don't specifically need analog Rapid Trigger, the CORE gets you the same layout and controls for far less.

Does the Corsair K70 CORE need iCUE software?

It types and works instantly without software, but iCUE is where the K70 CORE's per-key RGB lighting, profiles, and macro programming live. Set your lighting once and onboard memory can carry it to another PC — no need to keep iCUE running all the time.

How is the build quality of the Corsair K70 CORE?

The honest consensus: it's plastic, and that's the main criticism at this price — but the deck is rigid, the keycaps are decent, and the typing feel is solid. If aluminum framing is a must, step up Corsair's range; if you want a reliable full-size board for less, the K70 CORE holds up.
