Is the 2018 MacBook Air worth buying in 2026?

As a very affordable Retina Mac it can still serve basic users, but its Intel chip, aging battery, and limited macOS support make it a short-term choice rather than a long-lived one. Buyers wanting years of updates and better speed should consider an M-series MacBook Air. Compare New and Refurbished MacBook Air prices across sellers on Shopfox to see the gap.

Is the 2018 MacBook Air fast enough for everyday use?

The 2018 MacBook Air handles browsing, email, documents, and video streaming fine, but its dual-core Intel chip feels slow next to Apple Silicon for heavier tasks and lacks the newer models' efficiency. It suits light users on a tight budget. For demanding work, a newer MacBook is a better buy. Check the 2018 MacBook Air price history on Shopfox before buying.

Does the 2018 MacBook Air have a Retina display and Touch ID?

Yes. The 2018 MacBook Air introduced a Retina display and Touch ID to the Air line, a big upgrade over the older non-Retina models many buyers are comparing against. It also uses USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports rather than legacy USB-A. Confirm you are getting the 2018 Retina model and not an older Air. Compare 2018 MacBook Air listings on Shopfox to verify the configuration.
