Do you need Wi-Fi 7 clients for the RT-BE96U?

To benefit, yes — 6GHz and 320MHz speeds require Wi-Fi 7-capable devices, while older clients run at their own standards on the compatible bands. The router is backward-compatible with everything. Compare Wi-Fi 7 router options across Shopfox before upgrading. Verify the exact configuration on the Shopfox listing you are considering first.

How much does the RT-BE96U cost?

The RT-BE96U spans $174.99-$479.99 across Shopfox listings — the wide band covering open-box tiers through new flagship pricing, with Wi-Fi 7 flagship costs trending down as the standard matures. Check the price history on Shopfox to buy the dip. Compare live offers and seller ratings across Shopfox before deciding.

RT-BE96U or RT-BE88U - which should you buy?

The BE96U adds tri-band 6GHz for maximum wireless throughput; the BE88U counters with dual-band Wi-Fi 7 plus nine LAN ports for wired density. Wireless-first homes take the 96, rack-and-lab users take the 88. Compare both ASUS Wi-Fi 7 routers on Shopfox.
