What should you check when buying a used ET-8550?

Printhead nozzles above all — run or request a nozzle check since EcoTank heads clog when idle, and confirm the ink tanks' levels because a full set represents real money; the wide-format mechanism also deserves a paper-path test. Complete-ink units justify premiums. Ask for a test print.

Is the ET-8550 worth the premium over the ET-8550's rivals?

For wide-format photo printing, yes — the 13x19-inch tabloid capability plus five-ink EcoTank economics deliver photo prints at a per-page cost cartridge printers cannot approach, justifying its tier for volume photographers. The ink bottles alone carry real value in used listings. Verify printhead health.

How much does the Epson ET-8550 cost?

Shopfox listings run $24.99 to $618.98 across 4 offers — the floor covering parts-or-worn units and the ceiling reflecting complete wide-format EcoTank photo printers with ink; working complete units typically price near the upper band given the model's demand. Ink-inclusion defines value. Check its price history on Shopfox.
