Is a used ThinkPad P15 worth it?

Yes — the P15 depreciated into genuine bargain territory for the performance, and the community actively recommends it in 2026 as a heavy-duty work machine at used prices. Check screen configuration (panel quality varies by option) and battery health, then enjoy workstation power for laptop-outlet money.

Can you upgrade the ThinkPad P15?

Extensively — up to 128GB of RAM, multiple storage drives, and socketed-serviceable internals make the P15 a favorite for buyers who keep machines for years. Reddit specifically recommends used P15s as upgrade-friendly mobile work machines or even powerful compact home servers.

How is the battery life on the ThinkPad P15?

Practically nonexistent away from the desk — battery life is the recurring P15 complaint, with owners describing it as nonexistent and treating the machine as plugged-in-always hardware. That's the standard bargain of no-compromise mobile workstations: full-power components that simply don't care about battery budgets.

No funcionó

It only worked for 3 hours and then completely died. Very disappointing.

The verdict is still out.

This is a temporary review – I'll update it after warranty service. I bought this ThinkPad with high hopes based on Lenovo's reputation, and there's a lot I really like about it. But shortly after unboxing, it started overheating badly during normal use. Sometimes it got so hot that charging slowed down or even stopped until the laptop cooled off. I tried all the usual fixes – updates, power settings, temperature monitoring – but nothing helped. I'm not sure if it's a hardware, software, or cooling issue. I just want it to work properly. Since the problem isn't resolved yet, I can't give a higher rating, but I also don't want to rate too low before the seller has a chance to fix it. I'll update after service.
