Is the dual-battery T480 worth the premium over single-battery laptops?

For all-day unplugged work, yes — hot-swapping external cells delivers true full-day runtime, the feature that anchors its reputation and resale; competitors charge more for less. The premium persists for good reason. Battery system condition decides value. Compare live offers and seller ratings across Shopfox before deciding.

Should a battery replacement factor into a used T480 price?

Yes — Power Bridge's external batteries swap cheaply, but the internal cell plus wear adds real cost; budget 30-50 dollars and negotiate tired units accordingly. Documented new batteries justify premiums. Dual-battery health is the T480's value variable. Check the current listing details and price history on Shopfox before you buy.

Are refurbished ThinkPad T480 units worth it?

Sometimes — the T480's beloved-status pricing ($204-999 on Shopfox) already carries a collector premium, so refurb markups only make sense with strong warranties; private tested units usually win on price. The T480's fanbase keeps floor units moving fast. Buy on keyboard and battery.

battery sucks

The machine actually runs pretty smoothly as long as you're tethered to a power outlet. However, the portability is non-existent—the battery barely lasts 20 minutes before dying. Really disappointing.

Honestly, this is an incredible bang for your buck. The refurbishment quality is top-notch, it arrived looking like new. I’d highly recommend a clean install with ReviOS to maximize your privacy and performance.
