Surface Pro 12 vs iPad Air: which is better?

Choose the Surface Pro 12-inch if you need full desktop Windows and true laptop apps; pick the iPad Air if you prefer iPadOS, a huge app library and lighter tablet use. The Surface works better for productivity and file management, while the iPad wins for touch apps and battery. Compare both across sellers on shopfox to see the price difference.

How is the Surface Pro 12-inch battery life?

The Surface Pro 12-inch typically delivers a full workday of battery, often rated around 12-16 hours for video playback, with real-world mixed use landing lower. The efficient ARM-based chips help longevity and keep it fanless. Heavy multitasking drains it faster. For a portable tablet-laptop the Surface Pro 12-inch offers respectable all-day endurance for most users.

Can the Surface Pro 12-inch run desktop programs?

Yes, the Surface Pro 12-inch runs full Windows, so it handles desktop apps, though newer models use ARM chips that rely on emulation for some x86 software. Native and most mainstream apps run smoothly, while a few niche programs may lag. For Office, browsing and everyday work the Surface Pro 12-inch behaves like a real Windows laptop.

Vendor swapped the 1tb model with the 512gb model.

We returned the item and waited a week, then had to call to get them to process the return. There was a lot of conflicting information. They advertised it as 1TB but shipped a 512GB model.
