Compare prices for MSI MSI Thin 15 Computers

Great product! I definitely recommend it.

I bought two of these for my kids, so here's what I noticed from one or both. For both: boot-up took about 20 seconds, setup was standard. RAM is DDR4 at 3200MHz, not DDR5 as expected (I got the 16GB model). Storage shows 454GB but only about 370GB is usable—I removed Norton 360 first, but still seems excessive. The GPU is actually an RTX 3050, which was a nice surprise since I thought it would be a 2050. For one unit: the trackpad sensitivity varies—one registers clicks correctly, while the other registers accidental clicks just from brushing your finger across it. For both: downloads feel slow even though it says NVMe; speeds struggle above 170-200 Mbps and I had to cap it at 150 Mbps. Not sure if it's the drive or system. One unit took updates fine (though 4 hours), the other refused to download two security updates. I tested Fallout 4 at 1080p auto-ultra settings—it ran okay for an hour, but the fan was loud the whole time, so I'd recommend a cooling pad. The display only offers 144Hz and 48Hz refresh rates, no 60Hz option, which seems odd. Overall, there's a sense of deception—they don't tell you what you're actually getting. The better GPU is nice, but the slow write speeds, DDR4 instead of DDR5, and lost storage space are frustrating. It'll work for my kids, but anyone buying for themselves should know what I experienced.
